From the Gateshead uplands to the Tyne Delta, the current Lounge Lizards line-up only came together in September 2014 when Geoff Blanch joined but the band has been a regular on the Tyneside R&B circuit for over 20 years.
The Lounge Lizards come from different musical backgrounds including Blues, Rock & Roll, Jazz Funk and even Punk. The band members have played in favourite North East bands such as: The King Bees, No Time for Jive, The Dry Lakes Blues Band, Daytona Blues Band, Burco and the Go Go Midgets.
Their extensive musical references, diverse backgrounds and high level of musicianship creates a unique brand of Red Hot Rhythm & Blues with a shot of Rock & Roll on the side.
The set changes from night to night and includes covers of great Blues classics by such legends as ‘the three Kings’ (Freddie, BB and Albert), Peter Green’s Fleetwood Mac, Muddy Waters, The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, Gary Moore, Elvis, Fats Domino and Chuck Berry, as well as modern Blues Masters such as Hollywood Fats, William Clarke and James Harman.
