Twitter Twestival at The Tyne Bar

Newcastle's Twitter Twestival held at They Nar NewcastleThe Tyne Bar, Newcastle, was the venue for the 2010 Tyne Twitter Twestival. The Tyne helped to raise over £2,650 and got to meet loads of the people that @thetynebar had been following and tweeting along with over the past months.

The event was aimed at raising money for Concern Worldwide, specifically at building and refurbishing schools in third world countries.

Entertainment came from The Purnells, Cedar Way and Seven Fables who played cracking sets in our unique beer garden, under the Glasshouse Bridge.

See and here more about Newcastle’s Twestival at The Tyne Bar in the video below:

Dave The Happy Singer at The Tyne

Listen, we book a lot of bands okay!

I honestly can’t remember when, or how, or even if I actually did book Dave The Happy Singer to play at The Tyne. The only advantage was that he turned up with more video cameras than band members so you at least get to see more of the Little Gem that we like to call The Tyne.

Oh, and if you’re thinking that Dave The Happy Singer is the guy to make your wedding reception swing, I’m afraid he moved to Sydney Australia pretty soon after this gig.

The Proper Boys – Video Update

We’re not going to drone on about how well our unique beer garden and The Proper Boys go together, we’re going to show you. See the band, the bar and the audience in the video below:

The Proper Boys have been gigging together for years and they already had a lot of experience before they started doing that. Regular performers in Newcastle and the North East, they are always a popular showing with audience participation guaranteed as the quartet play classic guitar rock in their own style.

Crispy 1st Birthday – Chris Littlewood DJ Event

Are you not a regular at The Tyne Bar yet? See what you’re missing…

Chris Littlewood got his decks around ’98, and started playing a mix of hip hop, electro and breaks before settling down with a love for techno a year or so later. Around the same time he started mucking about with hardware synths and sequencers, and gradually began putting together material for live sets.

After spending the next few years cutting his teeth at parties and events and gigs like the ones at The Tyne Bar in Newcastle and beyond, Chris now holds residencies at London’s Hello Techno, My Old Friend, and his own Hooked club night in Newcastle; where he has mixed and played live alongside many of the industry’s most renowned artists, including Jeff Mills, Ben Sims, Surgeon, Joris Voorn, Vince Watson, British Murder Boys, Christian Smith, Cari Lekebusch, Dave Angel, DJ Murphy Trevor Rockcliffe, Billy Nasty, Phil Kieron, Oliver Ho, and even Mixmaster Mike amongst others.

No Name, Latin Music Night.

And what better way to enjoy hot summer nights than with Latin Music.

The Tyne’s Outdoor gigs are going from strength to strength and are beginning to attract a regular following of people looking for a great alternative venue where they can really get to enjoy themselves. Forget the city centre chanis, come and see it done properly at on of the the live gigs at The Tyne Bar, Malin Street, Newcastle Upon Tyne.

The Road To Rimini All Dayer

The Road To Rimini Spring All-Dayer at The Tyne Bar NewcaslteDid you do our Spring All-Dayer? This Road To Rimini event included some of the best local and national talent and was headlined by NME favourites, Heartbreak, who are in the middle of the NME Radar Tour.

But that’s not all, it also featured Lex Records, Lycra, Tokyo Acid Cru, The Cyolon and Fratelli Di Rimini.

The turnout for this gig was fantastic and the mood quickly stepped up to the number of people that wanted to dance and party all day long.

In order to make their third Rimini appearance Heartbreak briefly stepped off the NME Radar Tourbus to bring their metalo stylings once more to the good folk of Newcastle.

Since their last Rimini appearance way back in 2007 Heartbreak have been occupying themselves releasing their debut album ‘Lies’, gigging all over the place, getting lauded by all kinds of hip magazines and remixing (among others) Neon Neon, La Roux and Saint Etienne.
